Original Costa Rica Art

February 1st, 2006

Most of the time it seems, most web sites, even the cool ones, don’t really offer anything original or unique. Saul Bolaños is a Tico who creates a pretty unique product. He uses coffee, presumably the excellent Costa Rica cafe, to create art… and it is waaaay cool!

Bolaños is first an artist as you will clearly see when you visit his web site, Costa Rica Coffee Art (cafegraphia). He transfers his art work to everything he can such as coffee filters, greeting cards, medallions made of tropical woods… well ya really gotta visit it to see for yourself. He has designed coffee filters that have artwork and you drop them in a cup to make coffee… weird but neat! or… hang ’em on a wall.

He uses images from yesteryear… from the early days of the Costa Rica coffee plantations at a time when coffee was king.

This site is worth a visit if only to learn there really IS something new under the sun!

Yes… his work is quite good and as far as I know, it is not distributed in the USA although I know he ships to the USA.

I also believe the prices he shows on his web site are retail, not wholesale prices.

If you are interested in distributing (large) quantities, I am sure he would be interested and I suggest you contact him.

If you are interested in just buying one item, then order from his web site.
