Just Exactly What Costa Rica Doesn’t Need!

June 20th, 2006

Maybe a better title is: Exactly What I do not Need!

Wendy’s and Cinnabon are supposedly going to be opening soon in Costa Rica. Now, I LIKE Wendy’s, and I can maintain some level of control. Cinnabon is a different story altogether. For you vast unwashed who know-not a Cinnabon, it is a bun glopped with a fantastic rich sticky cinnamon mixture and covered with icing, and while I have NO idea of the calories or fat levels, nor do I have ANY desire to know, it has got to be just enormous. Nothing can taste that good and be good for you.

Costa Rica is not a good place to diet. First of all, MacDonalds, Burger King, KFC and all the others D_E_L_I_V_E_R. This means TO YOUR HOME! While this is common enough for the pizza crowd, being able to conveniently order a double quarter pounder with cheese (with only 3,297,212 grams of fat), from the comfort of your own home, is not a good thing if you are a calorically challenged person. Read that as being male and unable to see your own feet while standing upright.

Now come these Cinnabon people. While in the US, I was known to buy an airline ticket to anywhere just to have an excuse to return through Ohare and buy several gross of Cinnabons as I cleared the terminal.

And finally, just to show how stupid and thoughtless are these people… they are opening in Multiplaza, an almost 30 minute drive from my home, when they COULD have opened in Cariari right in my backyard! My purchases alone would have carried the franchise through the first six months.

Stupid marketing people. Now where did I leave my keys!

It’s nice to know that you’ll have Wendy’s now.

I’m in Jaco/Hermosa and I’m STILL waiting for McDonalds, Wendys, KFC or anything fattening, sweet, and good. Send chocolate covered donuts please (like Krispy Kreme).

    Teri… You want:

“… chocolate covered donuts please (like Krispy Kreme).”

Sorry… I visited your blog and saw your profile… and that figure did not come about from eating Krispy Kremes!

Nice try though. You probably don’t even sweat. 🙂

I love Cinnabons. I work there. Although they do contain a lot of calories, they are a great treat. We don’t down Icecream and they it is fatty. And the cinnapoppers are cinnabites. Also the correct spelling is Mocha latte.
