My neighbor told me he dusts dry boric acid powder around his garage door. This is apparantly a very safe insecticide. The insects crawl through the powder, clean their feet and it kills them. There are no harmful fumes and it lasts as long as you can keep it from washing away in the rain. What's it like to mop on the floor? Does that get the flea eggs? You know the Borax rings a bell. (As in 20 Mule Team or other variety) If you mop your floors with it or sprinkle on carpet (if you have any), you will not have fleas in the house! Might even work in the bodega!
