That article was written by Susan, and quite frankly, she was wrong. She may not travel Costa Rica as much as we do, or perhaps she was referring to just her part of the world.  There ARE places, especially in the small towns and in the country where flushing is a problem... but frankly, just not that many and it has been years since I have seen ANY hotel with that problem.

The answer in the post above is 100% correct.</description>
