Coming to Costa Rica? Do You Like Cheap Fares?

February 2nd, 2009

ladybeach1I realize the audience for this post may be a bit smaller, but here it is anyway.

Did you see it?

Frontier Airlines ran an ad during the Superbowl that may interest you if you live near or can get to, Denver, Colorado  (all flights specials originate there).

Price Denver to San Jose, Costa Rica is $139.00 (each way) and that ain’t bad… BUT you have to book and pay TODAY by 9 PM MST.

Rules:

* Purchase by February 2, 2009
* Complete travel by June 10, 2009
* 14 day advance purchase required
* Choose off-peak travel days
o Tuesday – Wednesday for US
o Monday – Thursday for Costa Rica

Can you do it?  If so, come on down to Costa Rica! The weather is fine… though I DID see a cloud the other day!

Oh… and the temperature here this morning (in San Jose):   72 F

How is YOUR weather?

    Thanks for the cheap travel tip. Two weeks in Costa Rica is less expensive than one week in Los Angeles, CA. If you are willing to venture away from popular touristy spots, you can find great deals on rooms, food and drinks. Pura Vida!

    Hey Folks,

    Check out fares with Spirit Airlines as well. I’ve been using them over the past three yrs. Fly direct to San Jose out of South Florida (Ft. Laud.) and have consistently paid around $280.00 round trip. They also have a great track record for timeliness. Providing you book at least 60-90 days in advance this fare is still within reach!

    Thanks for the info. I checked, and their rates to other cities seem to be very attractive as well. I just booked a flight with Continental yesterday – which cost about $160 more to my final destination than had I booked it with Frontier. To be sure, I will check Frontier on my next flight.

    I have found really good fares using costaricaairfare.com and have been using them for awhile. Easier then going to each individual airline but then again I am lazy

    From Costa Rica to the Caribean I’d recommend TACA, they have direct flights to Cuba, and Santo Domingo.

    However, they also have the best prices per say then any other airline from Miami, NYC, and San Francisco.

    For example United from San Fran to San Jose will run easily 1,000 a min. With TACA your looking at 438.00 round trip, as we speak right now http://www.taca.com has a special promotion going on.

    Also included in your fare is food, 2 suitcases, and awesome customer service, and a habit for being ontime, or early.

    Spirit is good, but then your gonna pay for baggage, and any other service you want.

    American is always late leaving Miami, and you pay for services, and baggage.

    Don’t be worried about the fact the flight attendants speak Spanish as a primary language, everything is in English as well, and they particular attention to the English speaking passengers. There also working hard on expanding operations in the US, hence the awesome promotions that come out everyweek.
